How a message finds its agent
A message that @mentions an agent goes to that agent. A message that mentions nobody is read by the first of these the workspace has:
- Jev, a small, fast model made for decisions like this one.
- A small model on one of the workspace's API keys, such as Claude Haiku 5.5 or GPT-6 Luna.
- Your own Claude or ChatGPT plan, for the messages you write, on a server you run yourself. It reads them on the computer where it's signed in, and takes a few seconds.
- Simple rules: a reply to an agent goes to it, and so does a follow-up right after you talked with it, or a message in a channel where you are alone with one agent.
When none of these fits, no agent answers. Mention an agent to call it.
Jev
When agentes.chat hosts your workspace, Jev is included. On a server you run yourself, it uses the owner's TypeSafe key, about US$ 0.0001 a message: Set up Jev.
Why your plan picks only for your messages
Claude and ChatGPT plans are personal, so your plan picks only for the messages you write.
Seeing who picked
Open the check under a message. Its last line says who picked the agents.
