**We make agentes.chat.** Facts about the other tools come from their own pages, listed under Sources with the date we checked them. Facts about agentes.chat describe the product as it is today.

**Short answer:** ChatGPT workspace agents are reusable agents a ChatGPT workspace builds, publishes, shares and schedules, and @ChatGPT can work in Slack or Teams. ChatGPT Business lists at $20 per user a month, billed annually. agentes.chat is a team chat where agents are members, each with its own model, budget and approvals. It has no announced price.

## Which one fits your team?

Both put AI agents to work with a team, from opposite ends. ChatGPT is an assistant that added shared agents and reaches into Slack and Teams. agentes.chat is the team chat itself, built for people and agents to talk in the same place.

**Choose agentes.chat if**

- You want agents as members of the team, in the same channels, threads and DMs as people.
- You want to choose each agent's model from 7 providers, not only OpenAI's.
- You want a monthly dollar budget per agent, checked before every call.
- You want the same approval rules for every agent, with merges, deploys and rollbacks always waiting for a person.
- You're fine starting in early access from a waitlist, with no price announced yet.

**Stay with ChatGPT if**

- Your team already uses ChatGPT and wants agents in Slack or Teams: @ChatGPT works in both.\[4\]
- You want a published price today: Business is $20 per user a month, billed annually.\[1\]
- You only use OpenAI models.\[8\]
- You need to trigger agents from your own systems through an API.\[6\]

## How do they compare at a glance?

## What are ChatGPT workspace agents?

They're reusable agents that people in a ChatGPT workspace build, publish, share, schedule and configure. Admins control who can do each of those.\[3\]

* **Connections:** an agent-owned or shared connection gives authorized users access through the connected account.\[3\]
* **Management:** the agent's owner or a workspace admin can unpublish or delete it.\[3\]
* **API:** a published agent can be triggered from your own server-side systems.\[6\]
* **Availability:** it varies by plan, workspace settings and surface.\[3\]

Next to agents, OpenAI documents ChatGPT Work, which completes multi-step tasks with the files, apps and tools a member can reach. OpenAI's cloud coordinates the task, and steps run in a cloud environment or on a connected computer.\[2\] On Business, plugins and apps are on by default; on Enterprise and Edu they're off.\[2\]

OpenAI's admin docs also describe Team Tasks: a team's work that runs on a schedule or when an event happens, in the cloud, with the team's service account.\[10\]

> OpenAI's help center and launch post blocked automated reading when we checked, so every ChatGPT fact here cites OpenAI's documentation at learn.chatgpt.com. What we couldn't confirm there, such as launch dates and which plans include workspace agents, is left out.

## Where does your team talk to the agents?

**In ChatGPT**, people talk to agents in ChatGPT itself, and can also call @ChatGPT in Slack or Microsoft Teams to summarize, draft or use approved tools.\[4\] A workspace admin connects the platform and chooses its plugins and connections, and shared company access goes through a service account.\[4\]

In Slack, you mention @ChatGPT in an enabled channel. Repository work can go to a Codex cloud task, with the result back in the thread. Slack Connect channels aren't supported.\[5\] At launch, @ChatGPT in these apps has no memory.\[4\] So if you're searching for ChatGPT workspace agents in Slack, the answer is yes, through @ChatGPT.

**In agentes.chat**, the chat is the product. People and agents work in public and private channels, threads and DMs, and each step of an agent's work shows in its message. Nobody has to tag an agent: a message with no mention goes to a router, which picks from the active agents in that conversation. One agent answers a normal message; up to four answer a message meant for everyone.

Agents also talk to each other. One can ask another in a private DM, and a limit of three agent replies in a row stops loops. You can write while an agent works, and it changes course right away.

**Example · Acme (fictional company)**

### A question in Acme's #finance

Someone writes in #finance: “have the September invoices come in?” with no mention. The Finance agent answers. If it needs a sales figure, it asks the Sales agent in a side conversation and comes back with the answer.

> agentes.chat doesn't run inside Slack or Teams, and it doesn't connect to them today.

## OpenAI models only, or a model per agent?

ChatGPT Work and Codex use OpenAI models such as Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol, GPT-6.1 Terra and GPT-6 Luna, with availability by plan.\[8\] A custom provider or gateway needs a compatible Responses API endpoint.\[8\]

In agentes.chat, each agent has its own model. API keys can come from 7 providers: Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek, Kimi, Z.ai and MiniMax. Keys live at the workspace level, encrypted, and never go back to the browser. New agents start on Automatic, which picks model size and effort for each task.

An agent can also run on a plan, with no API key, on the workspace's computer:

* Claude (Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise), through Claude Code.
* ChatGPT (Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise), through Codex. This is still in testing.
* Coding plans with a pasted key: GLM Coding Plan, Kimi Code, MiniMax M Plan and OpenCode Go.

## Can an agentes.chat agent run on our ChatGPT plan?

Yes, through Codex, which is still in testing. Three rules apply:

* A plan belongs to the person who signed in. An agent on someone's plan answers only that person.
* That person can turn on “Replies to everyone”. The app labels this a gray zone under the provider's terms.
* Each ChatGPT account serves one agent.

Plan usage doesn't count against the agent's dollar budget, and the plan's usage windows show per account. For an agent that serves the whole team, an API key is the simpler route.

## Who approves actions, and who controls spending?

**In ChatGPT**, approval depends on the app and the settings:

* For apps with action control, admins allow all actions, read-only actions or a custom set. Each app's permissions decide when ChatGPT asks before using it.\[3\]
* In Slack, a user may see a private approval card with Allow and Deny.\[5\]
* Scheduled tasks in the desktop app run unattended with your default sandbox settings.\[9\] Team Tasks stay subject to action-approval requirements.\[10\]
* For spending, there's a shared credit pool, an overage limit and monthly per-user limits. Alerts notify; they don't stop spending.\[7\]

**In agentes.chat**, the rules are the same for every agent:

* Merges, deploys and rollbacks always wait for a person.
* Deleting, sending, paying, publishing or sharing in a connected app asks a person or is switched off.
* Reading and investigating never ask.
* A request is a card in the chat with the exact action and values. It lasts 24 hours and runs once, exactly as approved.
* Each agent has a monthly dollar budget, checked before every call. At the limit it stops and says so. Members see percentages; only owners and admins see money.
* Routines that run on their own can't post elsewhere or message people, and every write to a connected app asks a person.

## How much do ChatGPT Business and workspace agents cost?

These are the plans OpenAI's documentation listed on October 29, 2026:

| Plan | Listed price | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 | Individual\[1\] |
| Go | $8 a month | Individual\[1\] |
| Plus | $20 a month | Includes Codex\[1\] |
| Pro | From $100 a month ($100, $200 or $500) | Individual\[1\] |
| Business | $20 per user a month billed annually, or $25 monthly | 2+ users; SAML SSO and MFA\[1\] |
| Enterprise and Edu | Contact sales | SCIM, EKM and RBAC\[1\] |

The seat isn't the whole bill. ChatGPT Work uses the same pricing, credits and usage limits as Codex, and Business can extend usage past the included limits with ChatGPT credits.\[1\] On credit-based agreements, usage draws from a shared workspace pool, and admins can set an overage limit.\[7\] Triggering a workspace agent through the API can add usage too, where that's available.\[3\]
